The White Flint Movies 5 was located on the third floor of the upscale White Flint shopping center. Designed by architects Madis Valge Associates, it was built with 1,500 seats. One auditorium opened with 500 seats; the other four began with 250 each. The theater opened March 7, 1977 as The Movies. In June 1980, Neighborhood Theaters took over and operated it until 1987.
In 2004, the movie theater was redone with new screens, sound system, seats, and concession stands. The AMC Loews White Flint Movies 5 was closed on January 20, 2013. The White Flint Mall is redeveloped into a ‘town center’ format. It is not known id AMC plans to return to the site.

I cant believe these are still operating. So many theaters have closed down and I thought for sure they would go to… saw many a movie here.

I think these theater is is closed . Not on AMC website
O.K. first I ever heard of it.
Still on AMCs website.
as far as I know the new iPic theaters are still on track for over at Mid Pike Plaza (where the Toys R Us is) and I still have no idea if the Silverspot Cinemas are still being constructed (and specifically where – supposedly by the DSW shoes/Hamburger Hamlet area of Old Georgetown Road) AND… the Arclight theaters over at Montgomery Mall. I wonder if AMC is willing to keep this open with eminent stiff competition of at least two of the theaters opening in 2014-15 – time will tell – these auditoriums are so antiquated, I’m surprised they have stayed open this long. The long standing rumor that While Flint Mall might be razed, this might not be around – maybe Cinemark will rise out of the ashes and construct a theater with a gargantuan ‘XD’ screen and obliterate the competition (har har)
March 7th, 1977 grand opening ad in photo section. Opened as “The Movies”
I saw Stand By Me, Schindler’s List, and Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas here. So many memories!!
