Located in the Straney & Moore Building, a plaque on the exterior reads, “One of the finest examples of Queen Anne commercial architecture in the City of Albany”. The Pix Theater was opened October 27. 1971. Following a remodel it reopened January 6, 2006.

The Pix Theatre is currently being remodeled and will be open as a First-Run Movie Theatre with 200 seats and one screen Fall of 2005. www.albanypix.com

The Pix Theatre re-opened on Jan 6th, 2006. It is a single screen playing first-runs when it can due to a Regal 7-screen on the other side of town. It is located in the historic downtown area of Albany to help revitalize the downtown. Each weekend attendance continously ramps up. The Pix is very Family Friendly in both prices and movies/events. They play a kids Matinee when allowed to share the screen. Website had a lot of info.
