Albany Drive-In

The Albany Drive-In was opened on July 3, 1953 with Sonny Tufts in “The Untamed Breed”. It was at the Santiam Highway location until 1968 when it was torn down. Today, a Bi-Mart stands in its place.

However, the drive-in was moved south of town to what is now known as 1710 Oregon 99E located in Tangent where it re-opened in 1970 operated by Moyer Theatres. It was closed on September 28, 1987 with Matthew Broderick in “Project X” and Gene Hackman in “Hoosiers”. The screen was eventually demolished. Today, the projection booth/concession stand is still there.

I believe you post the later Albany DI to its own page and label it Albany DI (2) since it was moved to a different location.
