I’m thinking the 2002 photo above is the date the photo was posted, not taken. Google Earth Historical imagery shows the subdivision on West Dr, to be all built up by 1998.
i have it being owned at one time by C.Massey.1956.
I am not sure where you guys have received your address from, but I remember going to that drive in as a kid. Granted I was only born in 1981 but the old drive in stood there until around 1995 or 96. It was across highway 50 from TA truck stop. I believe at this address or really close to it. 416 Steven’s Way Seymour, IN. I started Driving in 1997 and the drive in was already gone.
1956 aerial photo uploaded here.
Dnow is correct. All websites that list otherwise are incorrect. Topo maps are showing this drive-in’s entrance was between what is now Steven’s and Outlet on US 50.
May 24th, 1949 first ad in photo section.
The correct address (at least for Google) is 416 Steven’s Way, Seymour, IN. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining. http://tinyurl.com/hdxutaw
A better address would be 2609 E Tipton St, Seymour, IN 47274. This is U.S. 50. The entrance was next to this location now Waffle House.
Steven’s Way is a road made on the property after the theater was razed.
