The Carillon Theatre was opened on May 2, 1934 with Joan Crawford in “Dancing Lady”. It was located two doors away from the Byrd Theatre, and was a remodel of an existing brick building. It was operated by Wilmar & Vincent Corp. Later operated by the Fabian Theaters chain in the early-1950’s. It was closed in 1957, and has been converted into retail use.

Sitsa like a poor relation right close to Byrd.Still looks like a small theater.

A permit to alter an existing building at 2820 W. Cary Street for use as a movie theater was issued in 1933.

This opened on May 2nd, 1934 with “Dancing Lady” and closed in 1957. Grand opening ad posted.
