Located at the intersection of Highway 51 and Providence Road, the Arboretum Cinemas opened to the public on May 28, 1993 as a ten screen cinema in the upscale section of suburban Charlotte under Consolidated Theatres. By November 22, 1997, the Arboretum upgraded it’s auditoriums with all stadium seating with access handicap sections along with Dolby DTS/SDDS digital sound systems along with an expanded concession stand and advanced ticketing along with a ticketing kiosk for coming presentations. It also under Consolidated Theatres expanded from 10 to 12 screens on April 19, 1996 and it was renamed the Arboretum Stadium 12.
By 2005, Regal Cinemas acquired this theatre after it’s acquisition of Consolidated Theatres. By 2009, it upgraded to digital projection. In 2012, Cinebarre Corporation took over this theatre from Regal Cinemas. It was closed on November 10, 2022.
