In Perth, Perthshire, the King’s Picture House opened in 1922. It was owned by Perth Picture House Company Ltd. and the manager was Mr R.M. McDougall. The proscenium was 27ft wide.
A Western Electric(WE) sound was installed in the early-1930’s.
A CinemaScope screen was installed in the 1950’s, reducing the seating slightly from 1,062 to 1,010.
The King’s Cinema was still open in 1966, but had closed and moved over to bingo in late-1966.
In March 2009, when I visited, this was Kings Bingo. More recently, Premier Bingo took over.

Remember my parents taking me there to see ‘High Winds in Jamaica’ -bored me to tears.. and later was a favourite bingo hall of my Late Mum.
