According to the Carlsbad Current-Argus, this was the first movie theatre in Carlsbad. It was first operated by A.J. Crawford and was located in the Crawford Hotel, which opened in 1917.
In August 1923 C.W. Bartlett and Ray Bartlett purchased the theatre from J.R. Lynn and it was last listed in Film Daily Year Book 1931 with 500 seats.
