In a history of Carlsbad theaters, published in 2008, the Current-Argus noted that the Tower Theatre was built in 1939 and closed around 1958.
Film Daily Year Book 1951 lists the Tower Theatre as being operated by Theatre Enterprises, Inc. and seating 750, but later it was operated by Ray Bartlett.
The Wells Fargo Bank parking lot occupies most of the property today.
