Nearby Theaters
Located in the Plaza Shopping Center in the Miller Park neighborhood. The Cinema 8 opened in 1991 and was operated by Carmike Cinemas. In later years it was renamed Visulite Lynchburg and closed in 2012, still running 35mm film.
In 2016 it was taken over by the Harrison family and renovations began and it reopened November 4, 2016. The Venue Cinemas had digital projection in all screens and offered 2nd run movies at discount prices. In July 2025 it was announced that the Venue Cinemas would be closing later in 2025, and it was closed on October 26, 2025.

This opened as the Carmike 8 on June 13th, 1991. Grand opening ad posted.
