Built by Famous Players Canadian Corp., at a total cost of $280,000, the Thorncliffe Theatre was opened on November 29, 1968. It occupied 5550 square feet in the Thorncliffe Market Place Mall, Toronto, ON, and had 1,360 parking spaces nearby. Entrance to the theatre was from one of the main corridors of the mall. Color scheme featured blues, greens, and natural wood trim. It was designed by architect Mandel C. Sprachman. One source says the Thorncliffe Theatre closed in 1972, and its current condition is unknown.

The former Thorncliffe Market Place Mall is now called East York Town Centre, and is at 45 Overlea Boulevard.
