This simple airdome appears on the 1917 map, on a corner which was a vacant lot in 1912. It had opened on May 19, 1917 with “Home and Honor” a stage presentation by the Dorothy Reeves Company plus 5-acts of vaudeville. It’s possible this was a relocation of an older airdome which had previously been across the street to the south. There was a small stage, rather oddly set off-center.
It was closed at the end of the 1917 season. It was demolished by 1918 and replaced by a large store, which still stands.

The New American Airdome (El Dorado’s second airdome) opened its doors on May 19, 1917 with the Dorothy Reeves Company in the live presentation of “Home And Honer” alongside five acts of vaudeville and performances by the theater’s orchestra. It was owned by J.M. Owens and Ed Troutman.
The New American Airdome closed after the 1917 season, but it didn’t stop El Dorado, because a third Airdome opened at Wonderland Park in June 1918.
Thanks! It opened on my birthday!
Nice! You’re welcome!
