Airdome

This Airdome was opened in June 1911 and appears on the 1912 Sanborn. It was located on what had been a vacant lot in 1905. It was exceedingly basic, and does not appear to have even had a fence. The stage was quite large, and wider than the street frontage.

This theater closed in 1916 and in 1917 some small wooden businesses are shown here. So much has changed on the block that this is a bit hard to place, but it appears to have been about where the northern half of the R.C. Loomis building is today.

W.R. Rowell, the manager of the Palace Gem Theatre (later Gem Theatre), opened the Airdome in June 1911 screening a mix of movies and vaudeville. It was closed after the 1916 season.
