Located in the south district of Tempelhof and a conversion in 1949 of the site of the film copying plant of the Ufa film company. It opened as the Afifa Kino in 1949 with 140-seats and was designed by an architect named Schmidt. In 1953 it was enlarged and had 270-seats, operating as the Ufa-Palast and later Ufa-Kino.
In June 1979 it began use as an alternative cultural centre named UfaFabrik-Internationales Kultur Centrum, presenting films, live performances and variety shows. Around 40 people live on the premises and they operate, programme and participate in the promotion of the centre.
As well as the original former cinema, now known as the Theatre Hall, there is a Variete Salon and a covered open air space which is used in summer months.
