Electric Theater

Built by C. Whipple, J. Rymm and S. Hardy the Electric Theater opened in downtown St. George in 1911. With walls at least three feet thick the theater was done in an Adobe style. It seated 220. It was the first air conditioned building in St. George.

The Electric Theater changed ownership in 1930 and was renamed the Gaiety Theatre. During a later renovation it reverted back to its original name the Electric Theater and closed as a movie theatre on May 20, 2001.

In 2003 after another renovation the Electric Theater became a venue for music, bands and live performances. It is still in operation today.
