Marvelous article Panzer65. It is much appreciated. The RKO Keith’s Richmond Hill can still be saved since it is largely intact minus the seats of course. I fear that it is inevitable that the building will eventually be gutted and used for retail if nothing is done to prevent it. We must act swiftly to obtain landmark status.

Indeed Luis V & Panzer65. Perhaps it is time to consider landmark status for the RKO Keith’s Richmond Hill. How much longer can bingo sustain the new owners investment? The photo is much appreciated Lost Memory. While the photo of the booth is disturbing at first, it is further proof that much of the original theatre is intact. Landmark status for the RKO Keith’s Richmond Hill should be a high priority.

Indeed my good friend Peter.K. As someone who has received their share of insults from Warren I believe that we should now move forward. Let us not build a shrine to this individual. Instead we should rejoice.

Indeed; The knowledge of Ken Roe and Lost Memory, the warmth and friendliness of Peter K. and Luis V. have enriched my visits to this blog. Many thanks to all for sharing your theatre knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. Best wishes for a long and successful run.

Indeed my friend Luis; a wonderful photograph. I believe that the decay had begun in the 1960’s. The Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street area were in decline. The Brooklyn Fox Theatre holds fond memories. In particular the Murray Kaufman concerts. Both are gone and both are sorely missed.

Indeed I too enjoy viewing these marvelous photographs. Your contributions are very much appreciated Lost Memory. Do not be discouraged by the verbal assault of one disgruntled person. When an individual resorts to name calling that person has already admitted defeat.

Yes ERD, the Alabama Theatre is a beautiful theatre. If you have the opportunity to attend the Alabama Theatre please do so. You will not be disappointed.

Indeed. What is the point of attacking a fellow member that contributes so many interesting and informative messages that enlighten, entertain and educate the majority of other members? Many photographs are snapshots in time. Photographs can bring back fond memories of a particular theatre. Insulting messages benefit no one. Let us share knowledge and not insults.

I must concur. They are marvelous photographs. Even though the RKO Keith’s Theatre had already been divided at the time of the photographs the building was still a sight to behold. The damage that has been done to this theatre is inexcusable.

RE: Bway. Your explanation about lack of notifications is much appreciated. To my friend Luis, is there anything new concerning our beloved RKO Keith’s theatre? Are bingo games still conducted here?

I was addressing the use of copyrighted photographs and will not enter into a discussion of the legality of ads. Many authors must pay a royalty fee to use photographs in their publications. Posting photographs obtained without express permission is illegal. You are distributing photographs that do not belong to you and which you have no express permission to do so. Once a photograph is posted on a blog, thousands of people can copy and continue to distribute said photograph. The value of each photograph may decrease due to this illegal copying. I believe that the webmaster should prohibit the use of any illegally obtained material on this blog.

Indeed I must whole heartily agree. The level of piracy that this individual exhibits is appalling. The excellent reputation of this blog is being diminished by these ill gotten photographs. It is time for the webmaster to put an end to this ludicrous practice.

Indeed the aluminum siding covering the marquee gave it a hideous appearance. Perhaps it was done to disguise the fact that this was a former theatre. I have not received any new messages from this blog. Have notifications been halted?

Indeed my good friend Peter K. ‘A rose will still smell the same, even if it is called by another name!’. Information which is informative and helpful to people will have the same meaning no matter the name used to post said information. Being polite is in essence being considerate of others. Manners and politeness are sadly lacking on this blog. Attacking an individual for being polite is the real crime being perpetrated here. A bully should not be tolerated regardless of his or her knowledge.

Indeed my good friends; the area is in a constant flux of change. When neighborhoods decline they breed apathy and crime, discourage investment and contaminate the areas around them. Use of the building as a flea market did not enhance the stability or quality of the neighborhood. Why then do some city neighborhoods die while others flourish? Perhaps it all comes down to the community itself. Would the current residents support the use of the RKO Keith’s Richmond Hill as a theatre? I am fast becoming as pessimistic as LuisV in the realization that this building is doomed. What was once a joy to behold is now a decaying hulk of a building.

Indeed the interior of the Triangle Hofbrau was gutted in 1998 for the medical office to be built. I fear that the RKO Keith’s Richmond Hill will suffer a similar fate in the not too distant future.

Yes my good friend Peter.K the resource provided by Lost Memory is greatly appreciated. I will faithfully follow the instructions to obtain my membership. Perhaps membership with the Richmond Hill Historical Society will lead to landmarking of the RKO Keith’s Richmond Hill.

Piracy at the lowest level permeates this blog. Many thanks to misterboo for the marvelous photgraph. I must concur with Astyanax that the surrounding neighborhood was also part of the theatre experience. One should not be forced to separate the two.

Perhaps the new head of the Richmond Hill Historical Society will lead a campaign to landmark the RKO Keith’s Richmond Hill. One can only hope that the new leader will have the determination and fortitude that Ms. Cataldi has shown in preservation matters. Are there any new updates to the status of this building to report?
