Emerson College did not renew Broadway in Boston’s lease for the Colonial Theatre, according to this Boston Globe article. It’s not clear what Emerson intends to produce or bring into the Colonial next season. Seems to me they already have their hands full with the Cutler Majestic and Paramount, so I find this decision puzzling.
No ads in the Globe for any of the current or former Patriot Cinemas. I checked Friday’s and Sunday’s papers which are the most likely days for movie advertising.
Patriot Cinemas did not renew their lease on the Cameo in Weymouth and the Mill Wharf in Scituate. Bret and Michelle Hardy started a new company, South Shore Cinemas, to run these two theatres as of January 1. Today’s Globe South section has an article about them:

Also, in downtown Boston, the RKO Boston has sat empty since the mid-1980s. It was subdivided before it closed, but I’m not sure into how many screens. It is the only remaining downtown Boston theatre that awaits reuse, as all others have either been restored, converted to other uses, or demolished.

It says “The previous owner had planned to demolish the theater and replace it with a parking lot.” Not the current owner.

New Nickelodeon is not listed here at CinemaTreasures. Do you know anything more about it? (Was there an ‘Old Nickelodeon’ too?)
This was demolished last Thursday to make way for a Stop & Shop supermarket. The Chelmsford Independent posted a short news article and a video.
Somewhere I think I read that today’s Chandler Inn (once called the Diplomat hotel) is a remaining piece of the old Castle Square Hotel.

The 12-screen Assembly Square Cinemas in Somerville have been vacant since January 2007.
The Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA does this, but only for members. (It’s not a very large theatre.)
Perhaps the lobby entrance was moved during the 1963 renovations? (see my earlier comment that mentions 1963)

I don’t understand your comment — are you referring to the Columbia Theatre (not Columbia Square) that used to be about a half mile south of the Gary?
