The Esquire was demolished to make way for the new county arena.
There remains only one downtown theatre, open or closed, the Valentine, which has been redone as a performing arts center.

The Eastwood has gone through a succession of church operators, some of whom put a lot of repairs in the building. Worthy of restoration/preservation.

The theatre was used as a church for many years and currently is closed—condition poor, but some effort has been made in the last few years to preserve—at least temporarily—it and a neighboring building.

Actually the building was just demolished last year to make way for a new church for the congregation that had been using the former theatre for many years.

The magnificent Toledo State Theatre! 2000 seats on one level, housed a 3/11 Marr & Colton of which many recordings survive. Farewell concert on the organ in 1971, theatre subsequently boarded up/abandoned. The years that followed were not kind: gang activity, vandalism, scene of a tragic murder, and finally in 1995, despite local efforts to find a developer to restore, was torn down. The only positive note: The fine Marr & Colton pipe organ was donated to the Toledo Area Theatre Organ Society for eventual reinstallation. See the Toledo OHIO Theatre for details on that theatre organ society and their ongoing presentations.

Is this theatre still standing? The Majestic is in the background in the scenes of Harold Lloyd climbing a building and hanging on the clock in the classic silent movie: “Safety Last” in 1923.
