does anyone know the status of this theatre? I want to know about rental, but because it is in the process of being sold I don't know who to contact.

You would want to contact Ronn Koerper at 419-668-1641. As far as i know there are a couple of interested parties but they are still rolling along as usual. It is a treasure of a theater - well kept for its age and size, loaded with great deco architectural elements. One of my all time favorite Schine Theaters! (Oh wait... they're ALL my favorites!)

The Norwalk Theatre was purchased on November 14, 2006. The first event is December 14 with a Christmas concert with Country Music star John Berry. Tickets are on sale now. All premium seats are already sold but general seats still available for $25.00. Visit the website at www.norwalktheatre.com (theatre with "re") or call box office at (419) 668-8048. The new owners are looking for ways to generate income with the live venue. Looking to continue with first and sometimes second run movies, but also 2 live events per month with something bigger every three months that would draw from surrounding areas. It is also available to non-profits to rent out for a fee + a small percentage for each ticket sold and the theatre keeps all concessions. If the person who posted above still wants to rent the theatre call the number above.

What will be the focus of the theater now? Are films still going to be offered? Local shows? National names such as John Berry?

This theater is one of the great existing Eberson deco theaters, so the interior design is really a valuable asset to the theater. There aren't too many Eberson decos still in operation so it is hoped that the new owners will retain and maintain Eberson's original idea for this great house!
