The Kallet Theater was built in 1935 by Myron J. Kallet. The Kallet Theater was built on the site of the former Temple Theater which burned down in 1934. In 1938 the theater was remodeled in an Art Deco style by architect Milo Folley. The Kallet Theater closed around 1982. It is currently used as an auto parts store.

I was a projectionist at the Kallet in 1965 and 1966. At that time they has Simplex Regulars and WE 206 soundheads with Brenkert Enarcs.

Actually the Kallets assumed the lease on the Temple in 1935 opening on Friday, August 2. The Temple burned down in early 1939 and the Kallets built the Kallet Theatre opening Wednsday June 7, 1939.

Didn't the Kallets operate the Leroy Theatre?

This website also claims that a fire destroyed the Temple Theater in 1934. "In 1908 the Temple Theater and movie house operated on the project site, however a 1934 fire destroyed it. In 1935, M.J. Kallet Theaters, Inc. purchased the site and constructed the present building".

The dates I cited were from the Mexico Independent Thursday August 1, 1935: "New Temple Theatre opening Friday" and the Oswego Palladium Times June 6, 1939: "Pulaski theatre to open on Wednsday".
The reference to the New Temple Theatre merely meant that the Kalletshad bought the lease from the Hohman family and had remodeled the theatre.
Yes, the Kallets also operated the LeRoy theatre.

Here's a vintage postcard I recently scanned: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pulp-o-rama/2971707257/in/set-72057594129975085/
It's the Art Deco style remodelation, although Art Deco seams to be a bit too much credit judging from the postcard.
