This website gives the following timeline for the O'Klare Theater. An opening date of September 6, 1914. The O'Klare then closed on May 23, 1926. It opened again in the early 1940's. The O'Klare Theater was re-named the Uptown Theater in 1954 and the Uptown Theater closed in 1956.

Boxoffice magazine reported in January 1935 that twenty thousand dollars was being spent to convert the building from a garage to a theater. It may have been a garage after it closed in 1926. Architects were noted as being Liebenberg & Kaplan.
