Opened on December 18, 1987 as the Egyptien 3. This three screen theater was built as part of the renovation that transformed the the old Sheraton Hotel into les Cours Mont Royal.

The Cinema Egyptien was closed on February 15, 2001.

Interesting that Egyptien is spelled with an "e". In 1990, the seating is given as follows:

Egyptien 1-378
Egyptien 2-198
Egyptien 3-279

Total 855 seats
