From the Mecanoo architects site:

OPENING ROZEN THEATRE, AMSTERDAM

“April 14th 2005

After an extensive renovation, the Amsterdam Rozen Theatre will be officially opened by mayor Job Cohen on Saturday April 16th at 4 P.M. Mecanoo has renovated the former cinema of 1912 into a modern and well equipped theatre that is designed for a young public. Behind the beautiful renovated façade with stained-glass windows lies a theatre with 190 chairs, a new multifunctional hall for approx. 50 people and a new foyer with a lounge on the balcony. The theatre is suitable for multifunctional programming and can be divided with demountable seating stands".

This is the website for the Rozen Theater.

Ian;
Thanks for that latest news and the link to the photographs. Good to hear that at least the exterior of the building remains intact and it remains in entertainment use.

The Rozen has just had its interior gutted and rebuilt as an adaptable black box theatre. The opening was held last weeked – 15/16 April 2005. The stained glass windows and the facade remain intact but inside everything is new, with no reference to the previous layout.
