The Palm Bay is located on US 1, in Palm Bay, Florida in a strip mall was opened in the late 1970s and closed in the 1980s…..It then became a club which is also now closed, and this strip mall now sits abandoned…..It was abandoned at the time that the two major hurricanes hit the area in Sept. 2004…..all stores are closed…..At one time it was a thriving strip mall with Radio Shack, two banks, and a Winn-Dixie supermarket…..The strip mall was located on US 1 and the corner of Port Malabar Blvd.N.E. across from the Indian River………All Major merchants including the Banks moved to newer malls in the west section of Palm Bay closer to I-95 and away from the River-Front……The Palm Bay Theater was a small Independent that showed first run films at first, then went to second run features that were at the time also on HBO……and finally closed after only being open for about ten years…It was a single screen, with about 300 seats……..Surrounding areas now have ten-plex theaters, as the single free standing style is now passe.
