The Colonial Theater opened in June of 1932. Architects are listed as Benton & Benton. The Town of Canton acquired the theater in 1998. In 2000 the Colonial Theater was added to the National Register of Historic Places as building #00000226. The Colonial Theater has been renovated and is now used for concerts, movies, and plays.
