The Platt Theater in Sulphur was definitely in operation from the 1930s to the 1950s. An old newspaper listing gave information for the theater as follows: “Phone: 150, Adults .25, Children .10”.

There is no N. 2nd Street in Sulphur, so this should probably be 1014 W. 2nd Street. As for that location, a newer drug store is standing at 1014, leaving the status of the Platt as demolished.

The Platt Theatre launched with Shirley Temple in “The Little Colonel” on March 21, 1935 (opening ad in photos).
