Yes, we are still open! We are fully converted to digital. We are open 5 nights a week closing on Mondays and Wednesday night for church. We are a first run movie theater. I will post current pictures soon.

This theater changed hands in 2007. It is currently open and running first run movies. Check the website that lost memory has linked in his post. It is updated weekly.

The Flickr photo is from the Debra Jane Seltzer collection. The theatre appears to be in operation at the time this photo was made and I do not know its current status.

Jack, did you see any for sale signs when you took the picture?

A Yellow Pages search shows a Plaza Theater in Humboldt, TN listed as open. The address given is 1408 Main St. Is this the same Plaza Theater?

I am still looking into it. I have come across a few instances in some of the directories in which the both the physical address of the theatre is listed as well as a mailing or bussiness address. I do not know if that is the situation here but will update when I find out. Thanks for your information.

Listed in the Film Daily Yearbook 1943 as having a seating capacity of 800. In the 1950 edition of F.D.Y. the seating capacity is given as 904 and the address is 1410 Main Street. Has there been a major re-numbering here?
