The Bijou Theatre stood on Newcastle Street near Monck Street in Brunswick. It is shown in the 1941 Film Daily Yearbook as open and seating 300, operated by a subsidiary of Paramount Pictures.
An investment firm is located at this address today. Any further information on the Bijou would be appreciated.

From Historic Theatres of Brunswick, Georgia:
“The Bijou opened in the 1920’s. It was owned at that time by Arthur Lucas and William K. Jenkins. The Bijou Theater advertised that Kinograms News Reels were presented along with their featured films. Although the Bijou Theater under the management of Alma W. King flourished in the 1930s and 1940s, it would shutdown in the 1950s”.
