I knew the owner of the Midway in the 1960s, Mr. John Hewitt (or Hewett?). He was a real character!

Mifway Owner, that seat count was probably from when the Midway first opened.
The Midway Theatre has 298 seats, not 400.
A new website for the theater is being built and will have the address of www.midwaytheatermovies.com
The Midway reopened on 11/21/08 after being closed since 4/3/08. The new operator of the theatre is the former General Manager, Ken Aultz. Company name of the operator is KRA Midway Theatre, LLC

And I used to have a FL neighbor who had grandparents in Bethel so I’m sure she knew about this theatre when she visited them growing up.
Jordan: Good news! Bryan’s photo post of August 24, 2005 doesn’t work!
We just posted this story about the Midway reopening this weekend and wanted to pass it along:

I will read the article, but it is a sad note in this theatre’s history. If it is just closing, perhaps it can still be save as closing is far better than demolition though one sometimes follows the other.
Status should be Closed. Here is an article about the closing.
According to an article and group photo in the Cincinnati Enquirer of April 4, 2008, the Midway did indeed close after the evening show of “Horton Hears a Who” on Thursday, April 3rd. “1937 – 2008” was posted on the small marquee.
