The Goodhand Theatre is a small town single screen theatre independently owned and operated. Terry and Amy Sorensen are the owners. Seating is listed at 215. It serves the county population of 2,600 showing first run features.

Certainly a charming, vintage theater that still graces the small, Western Nebraska town of Kimball. Still features a functioning curtain that is opened before each movie and closed afterward. There is no balcony. Seats, carpet and paint are newer and very nice. That said, the theater still retains its vintage charm. Attended a screening of “St. Patrick’s Day” here in February of 2010 and the presentation was excellent. Be sure to visit when in the area!

Here’s a fresh link to the first page of the article about the Goodhand Theatre in Boxoffice of December 4, 1954 (the article continues on the two subsequent pages.) The magazine says the architect’s name was Wate Porter, but I think it must have been Wade Porter, who was listed in the 1962 AIA directory as having his office in Cheyenne, Wyoming
