The Westport Theatre opened prior to 1931 under the ownership of Fox Theatre. It is tin the 1941 edition of Film Daily Yearbook with a capacity of 800 seats. By 1950 it was known as the Glen Theatre with 758 seats, and was operated by Dickinson Theatres.

A fire destroyed the theatre in 1984. At that time, the building was occupied by the Olde Theatre Architectural Salvage Company.

What was your source for the information of this theatre. Fox/Dickinson were never partners. Dickinson Theatres is one of the oldest theatre chains in Missouri with Wehrenberg being the oldest. The Glen was opened by Fox Theatres not Fox/Dickinson. It was later acquired by Dickinson Theatres and later renamed as the Westport due to its location in the Westsport area. Also where did the seating information come from? It is incorrect also. When getting information from the Rivest site don’t rely on it being accurate, there are a lot of guesses and years rounded off. The link on the Rivest site for the Kansas City Classic Theatres has a lot of errors including addresses and years.

Re-decorated auditorium pictured in this 1932 trade article, which suggests that the Westport first opened well before 1931 as CT introduction claims: Boxoffice
