The Empire Theater opened October 6, 1899. It was designed by John B. McElfatrick. The Empire Theater was used for vaudeville, musical performances, plays and eventually motion pictures. By 1941, it was operated by the Schine circuit. This theater closed in 1950 and was converted to office space. History and a photo of the Empire Theater can be found at the link below.
