According to columnist and blogger James Lileks, this theater is located in the 1916-vintage Desmarais Building, the largest commercial structure in the town.

The New Staples Theater opened in 1930.

Opened in 1930 with seating listed at 650.

This theatre should be listed as the Staples Theatre in the header. When you call the theatre they answer Staples Theatre. In all the directories it is listed as Staples Theatre with no Cinema in the name.
