The UA Queensway was on the first floor of the Pacific Place in the Queensway district. It opened to business on 22nd March, 1989 and first run movies were shown until its closure on 27th January, 2006. It was a luxurious cinema with spacious lobby and foyer. After it was closed, its interior was demolished and a new cinema—AMC-Pacific Place— was constructed in two of the four auditoriums of the former cinema. The new cinema opened on 9th December, 2006.

“This complex has one of the largest auditoriums in Hong Kong. Excellent seating gives good views of the screen from any location. There are four screens altogether playing blockbusters from the English-speaking world, though the odd money making international film might get some airtime. The refreshments counter is top-class, offering a range of drinks, snacks, and a candy bar that is every child’s heaven and every parent’s nightmare! Admission: adults HK$65 (HK$40 all day Tuesday); students HK$45; children HK$45, concessions HK$45”.
Same theater?
Yes.
UA-Queensway Cinemas later renamed as UA-Pacific Place Cinemas.
The United Artists Queensway Cinemas was designed by San Francisco architect Daniel T. Uesugi, and was one of at least three Hong Kong projects he designed for UA.
