Typical 14 screen plex, in a year and half due to BAD management and some questionable customers, its showing its age.
Seats are torn, stains on carpets, loud people, ringing cell phones, and yet again prices are raised on the concession items. They have gone up 5 times in the year and half they have been open. The box office admission prices change frequently also. They let students in on a bottom line price, give them free concessions, then pass the buck to regular customers who have to make up the difference at the box office and concession stand. Elevator prices, up and up.
The parking ramps are a nightmare, and not very easy to access unless you know how to get out to get to the theatre, but then try to get out of the theatre and find your way back to the car. This is still downtown and there are still questionable peoples around.
All in all, this place is ok, but with pricing like that I wonder how long it will be until they go bankrupt and Celebration Cinema takes it over. Pay to park, pay unknown at box office, then spend next months rent at the concession stand for a Coke and sm. popcorn.
Ill go to another theatre, thank you.

According to this article, Rave will operate the theater until January 2013, at which time a new operator will temporarily close it for renovations. Other sources suggest the new operator may be Carmike, which is reportedly looking at other Rave locations that it did not earlier acquire in 2012.
Latest report is that this facility will be closing Nov. 25, not the January date earlier reported.
This articleconfirms the earlier closing date. It seems odd that the closing is being made before the arrival of most of the big holiday films though.
The new owner/operator may well be Cinemark instead of Carmike; it was just announced that Cinemark is acquiring the Rave properties that were not a part of an earlier sale to Carmike. This may explain why the closing date of this theater was changed.
It’s been confirmed by WKZO that Cinemark will NOT take over the soon to close Rave in Kalamazoo. ( http://wkzo.com/news/articles/2012/nov/19/the-rave-may-close-but-something-is-waiting-to-take-its-place/ )
This cinema will be reopened by the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas chain. ( http://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/index.ssf/2013/02/alamo_drafthouse_taking_over_r.html )
