Gem Theater

The first Gem Theater, opened around 1917, was located at 117 S. Broadway. It was owned by W.Z. “Willie” Spearman.

In 1921, a new Gem Theater was constructed at 17 S. Broadway at the corner of W. Main Street. The theater closed in the 1950’s.

This is 13-15 S. Broadway. The building on the corner, which would be the end of the 0-100 block, looks too new to be built in the 1920s. Subsequently the Gem could be this building or it could be obliterated. No way to tell.
