This little theater shared a building (and address) with the original Kimmel Theatre at 213 Eighth Street. Both theaters opened in 1911. The Kimmel closed in 1917, and moved to another location on Eighth Street (later becoming the Jackson, and finally, Rogers Theatre). The Bijou survived until 1931. The structure that housed the first Kimmel and Bijou Theatres has since been razed.
