The “Sony Digital Cinema 4K Theatre Locator” identifies this as a 4K cinema. I phoned and asked if “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” was playing 4K here, but the employee who answered didn’t seem clear on what 4K was and gave a vague answer about which showtimes were digital and which were film. Before travelling 34.5 km to this theatre, is there a more definitive way to confirm that this movie is playing 4K here?

Now the Cineplex Odeon Winston Churchill cinemas, should be changed on here.
Still puzzled how Cineplex Odeon is allowed to have both this and SilverCity just blocks away, when they had to divest of several locations after taking over Famous Players. And isn’t the downtown Yonge & Dundas and Scotiabank in the same “zone” as well?
I don’t think it’s “zone” that has anything to do with it. Many theatre chains have multiple theatres in the same booking zones. I think it’s a matter of whether or not competition would be prohibited by Cineplex owning two theatres in the same area. At least — that’s how it would be in the US. I don’t know about Canada.
I think it’s the same here. That’s why Empire Theatres picked up a lot of locations across Canada when Cineplex took over Famous Players.
