The Regal Downingtown Stadium 16 opened on April 9, 1999. Located west of Philadelphia in the county of Chester, it is at Route 30 and Quarry Road/Lancaster Park. The movie theater’s auditoriums each feature stadium seating and digital sound.

On April 18, 2014, the Philadelphia Inquirer ran for this theatre a banner advertisement above the movie clock listings announcing ‘An All New IMAX Now Open’.

On a 1 to 5 scale, June 1999 Philadelphia magazine rated this theater a “4” with comment “Brand-spanking new” It received the highest possible rating in the Screen & Sound category and very high for Seating and for Cleanliness.

Does anyone know when this center originally opened? Because it had a Hechinger for a while, that closed in 1999. 1989 maybe?

Don’t know about the shopping center, but this theatreopened before May 1999, when Star Wars Episode I opened here.
