Originally opened in 1920 as a live theatre, the Crist Theatre became a movie theatre in 1939.

In October 2002, after several years of fund-raising and renovation, the Loveland Stage Company, founded in 1979, moved into the former Crist Theatre building.

Sadly, the building was badly damaged by a fire on October 20, 2008. Repairs were carried out and it re-opened.

A sad addition to history of the Loveland Stage Company, articles from Cincinnati, Ohio Enquirer newspaper carry news of a fire which gutted the facility Oct.20,2008 leaving damages estimated at $300,000.00. The Theatre dates from 1939 as a movie cinema prior to use as a live presentation house with 29 years of productions. Funding a new roof could possibly put the Stage Company back in business, but it will take a massive fund raising.

The Loveland Stage Company is open again. Our web site link needs to be repaired. This one should work.
