Union Springs, AL, was the base for Fred T. McLendon Theaters, a large chain in the early-1970’s, with theaters in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and North Carolina. The Lilfred Theatre was a McLendon theater.

The 1951 Film Daily Yearbook gives an address for this theater of “W. Prave” but this doesn’t map. I’m guessing it’s supposed to read “W. P Ave” as there is a P Avenue in Union Springs.

Opened in 1939 and closed in 1975.
