The World Theatre opened January 28, 1927. By 1941, it had been renamed Fox Theatre and had a seating capacity of 1,014. It stopped showing movies in 1987. Now a performing arts centre, it also screens classic movies.

This photo being sold on eBay shows a Bison Theater that apparently opened in 1952. I don’t find any record of a Bison Theater in McCook, although there was a Bison Drive-In. I’m wondering if this photo was miscaptioned.

Well…I see where it has been deleted, but not by me. I will check in to it.
Thanks Chuck!

From the 1940s a postcard view of Main Avenue and the Fox Theatre in McCook.
I realize this is an older post but while doing research for a friend I found photos of the BISON Theater in McCook. It was in the large brick building.
This link tells about it and has photo(s): http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/33473/photos
Apparently there was also a BISON Drive-In or two in the McCook area as well.

Functions should include Movies, classic.
