According to the Lemhi County Historical Society, the Main Theatre was opened in 1939 by F.W. Hammer. On Saturday April 7, 1951, about noon, before the matinee, a fire started and by 2pm only the walls remained. Three men, who went into the building, without masks, died of asphyxiation. The Main Theatre never reopened again and was rebuilt as the Main Lounge, which is now Whiskey Willys. DeMordaunt and Drennon were the operators at the time of the fire. Research from Times-News in Twin Falls. Photos Provided by Salmon Public Library.
