The over 500 seat Sunset Theatre had been running adult films in its last years. It was closed in early-2003, and demolished in October 2003.

A contributor has suggested that this 1994 photo, identified only as being on Western Avenue, is the Sunset. Any feedback would be welcome.

Not sure Ken mc what that photo is of – not the Sunset. It was still open in 2002 when I went there.

I used the Sunset Theatre entry, and others, as research for a crime novel I just finished writing – Sweet Money Won – about the adult entertainment industry in Los Angeles. The photos and facts here really helped give the scenes authenticity.
