This is a 2/17/2008 article about the Newmanstown Theater. Might be slow to load at times.

The article states that the theater was formerly known as the Lyric and the Joy. In 1947 the Lyric was part of the Mark Rubinsky theater chain, based in Harrisburg.

The theater site says that it has three screens.

Opened as the Joy Theatre on May 16, 1917. Later became the Lyric Theatre.
There was a fire in the second floor of the building in 1973. The first floor was converted to the Firefighters Social Club. On Feb. 1, 2008 it was converted back to a movie theatre and reopened as the Newmanstown Theatre with two screens.
