Located in a building within the historic and recently renovated Hackesche Hoffe in the Eastern district of Mitte, Berlin. The original Art-Nouveau style building was designed by August Endell in 1906/1907.

The 5-screen cinema opened in 2005 and is located on the fourth floor, above the Chamaleon Variete Theater in the courtyard of the building. Access from the street is down a very narrow alley and through to the courtyard. Inside the auditoriums, many original Art Nouveau decorative details have been retained, thanks to the architects Kaup & Wiegand Architekten. The screens are THX certified, with the main screen seating 325. Additional facilities include a restaurant and a bar.

The Hackesche Hofe Filmtheater screens many films in English
