I seem to remember that the MacDonalds usage actually lasted into the 21st century – possibly as late as 2004.

Next Retail Ltd, a clothing store is located in the former Corn Exchange building on East Street.

I don’t know how up-to-date this information is, but this website claims that a major clothing retailer is located in the Corn Exchange.
