Opened in 1975 and located in the Dunn Shopping Center. The two screens each seat around 300 patrons.
The Plaza Twin Cinema was refurbished by Carmike Cinemas in 2007, when new seating, carpets and digital projection was installed.
It was announced in mid-August 2008 that the first-run cinema would close on 28th August 2008 due to lack of business. It was the only theatre operating in the town.

Why they would have refurbished this theater is anyones guess. The numbers at this theater have been bad for years.
Wasn’t this theatre anchored by three major stores? I know it was anchored by a Winn-Dixie grocery store and a Roses Department Store and at one end a Eckerd Drugs. The theatre was on the opposite end of the shopping center off US. 421.
Here is an article about the closing. Address: 1901 West Cumberland Street
The Plaza Twin Cinema(aka Dunn Plaza Theatres 1 & 2)
opened in 1975 and it was owned and operated by Charlotte-based Stewart and Everett Theatres. At the time it was the second moviehouse operating in all of Dunn and Harnett County(the other theatre was the Stewart Theatre located in Downtown Dunn, also operated under Stewart and Everett Theatres which is now the Harnett Community Center).
Carmike acquired the Plaza Twin Theatres in the mid-1980’s until its closing in August of 2008. At the time of its closing,it was the ONLY theatre operating in the town.
