The Dreamland opened in 1911. In 1915 the name was changed to Northeastern. From 1917 to 1922 it was the Dreamland again. It was the Oakland from 1924 until it closed in 1928.

This was one of two Oakland Theatres in Detroit, The second one was located at 636 Oakland St.
