The building was originally an old Barracks Chapel building, located in the Peninsular Barracks development. The Screen Cinema was opened on 23rd February 1996 by Romain Hart’s Mainline Pictures Ltd. group who operated other Screen Cinemas in London and the South-East of England.
Seating is provided for 214 and 170 in the two screens. In 2008, Mainline Pictures Ltd. were taken over by the Everyman Media Group, who operate out of the Everyman Cinema, Hampstead, London.

A great cinema with Sony 4k digital projection
I saw Angels & Demons here back in 2009 and loved the quaint atmosphere. Very different from North American theatres, but I loved my experience here! Can’t wait to one day make my way back here.
